Sparkles and Shimmer at the Grammys
The 2017 Grammy Music Awards was a pageant of glittering gowns and dresses, with musician after performer delighting with their ensembles. Below are some of the most stylish of the glistening and sparkling women who attended this year’s top award show for the American Music Industry. Award winners such as Adele in Green and Beyonce in Red, entered in one gown and wore several over the course of the night. It all provided for one glamorous spectacle, as befits the premier event of the American Music and Recording Industry.
Adele Shocked Everyone and Refused Her Award
Beyonce was stunning, showing off her pregnant figure weeks after stunning the world with her maternity photo announcement. There was more drama in store for the singer, who was up for the ultimate prize of Album of the Year with her visual album ‘Lemonade.’ Beyonce’s newest album was hailed by others in the industry as ground-breaking and a masterful work of art.
As if she weren’t already the talk of the night, Adele shocked the world by refusing to take home Album of the Year, instead giving an impassioned speech that it should have gone to Beyonce. The ‘Hello’ singer and songwriter then broke her Grammy award in half, stating she was going to share it with the newly expecting Beyonce.
The Best of the Grammy Gowns
Celine Dion made an appearance, though she is newly bereaved of her true love and longtime husband Rene, who passed away last year and was accorded a lavish funeral in Canada. Celine and Rene are considered National Treasures in their home country.
Katy Perry sparkled, but her odd behavior sparked more than a few wagging tongues when she attacked Britney Spears over mental health issues on the Red Carpet not once but multiple times. Britney fans, who pointed out the star had always supported Perry, attacked Katy’s somewhat deranged look and inappropriate remarks.
Nicole Kidman glimmered elegantly on the Red Carpet.
Singers and musicians were seen having a ball in sparkling dresses, like this bubblegum pop number below.
Some sparkles attracted more attention for the gown than for the wearer, such as this political statement piece supporting President Trump.
Stars sparkled from the red carpet and also within the cavernous award show inside, decked out in jewels and bespoke designer fashion gowns, sporting amazing hair styles and gorgeous professional makeup.
Rihanna was the ultimate party girl that night, showing up with a signature flask and enjoying the show as if she were at any old concert. She looked incredible in a two piece number with a sparkly orange crop top and a full voluminous black gown skirt.
Demi Lovato made a splash in a see-through figure-hugging dress that clung to her curves.
