About Paper Duchesses Journal

Paper Duchesses Journal

Paper Duchesses is a Journal of Social Influencer Lifestyle, Fashion, and Fiction that provides our readers with inspiration for a beautiful, purposeful life.  Our Mission Statement can be found here.  Most of our contributors are themselves influencers, allowing our articles and guides unique insights into all sides of the new social media landscape.

The word social influencer is often used to describe someone who is famous, a notable person, or a celebrity, but influence is more than simply being well-known or notorious.  A social influencer is actually someone who other people trust and seek to emulate and can be as ‘small’ as a glamorous friend who you rely on for fashion advice or as ‘large’ as Selena Gomez with the world record 136 Million followers on Instagram, many of whom are ready to instantly buy whatever she wears.

Social influencers are moving billions of dollars across industries with their marketing and sales capabilities, but it isn’t all about fashion, cosmetics, food, travel, and luxury.  Modern influencers are using their power for good by championing humanitarian causes across the globe and raising massive funds for philanthropic causes as well as highlighting important charities that would normally go overlooked.  The Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, and other young royals are tireless advocates for numerous causes and societies that seek to aid causes from environmental to human rights.

Other influencers are giving voice to arts and culture or bringing attention to the sciences.  Supermodel Karlie Kloss is often seen encouraging girls to be interested in causes like space exploration and computer programming.  YouTube has become a huge platform for creators to share their passions as well as the latest advances in science and technology.  And since creators are usually on the forefront of these industries and are given access before anyone else, they automatically become influencers in that everyone else is watching their content to inform their buying choices.

Paper Duchesses Journal covers all aspects of the social influencer landscape in a way that highlights the positive and inspirational in life.

Media Sources

Paper Duchesses Journal produces multimedia content in house and through our staff, creators, partners, affiliates, sponsors and guest contributors.  In addition to original content, we also source from a variety of media outlets.  These include news agencies, public social media, stock photography brokerages, private image collections, creative commons media archives and databases.  You can read more about our image resources for creators and brands here.

Stock Image Copyright Issues

Due to the fact that we source from multiple databases and media outlets for our stock images, very rarely we acquire an image that has been wrongfully published or sold elsewhere.  These images may be subject to outside copyright and have been passed onto us in the condition they were in with assurances from the seller or creator that they were the owners of the copyright.  Our image editors make a good faith effort to screen all stock media and collection images but as with any large publication we may inadvertently publish an image or media that has been misrepresented to us.

If you see an an image or media that is subject to your personal copyright or the copyright of the brand you personally own, please contact team@paperduchesses.com with the following information: the media in question, the article title on which the media appears, verification of who you are as the creator, a link to your original copy of the media where it was published OR other substantial proof that you are the original creator of the media.

Social Media Public Domain Images

If your image or media has been published publicly, such a post made to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or a blog, and it relates to a matter of public interest or is newsworthy, this is considered in the public domain.  As a news publisher we often publish such items which are in the public domain, but make every effort to credit the original creator and usually link such social media posts directly from the platform where they were originally published.

As a Journal of Social Influencer lifestyle, we write articles for the public interest and that includes any and all posts publicly intended for social media, no matter the size of the creator.  If you have been featured on Paper Duchesses as a social influencer and have concerns, please contact us.
